Kingston-made movie heading to Cannes

A made-in-Kingston movie is going to the Cannes Film Festival this year.

“Den Mother Crimson,” the inaugural production of local production company Branded to Film, is among the genre films chosen for the festival’s “Frontieres” buyers showcase this year.

While the French festival is known for premiering high-profile films and red carpet appearances, the “Frontieres” showcase, which is specifically for genre films, is part of the business side of the festival, explained Branded to Film co-founder Jason Joly.
